Wieland Metals Environmental Policy

Wieland Metals is dedicated to fulfilling its mission in a sustainable manner. In doing so, we believe that we have a responsibility for the environment. This belief is reflected in a commitment by the company to protect and enhance the natural and workplace environment. This commitment is intended to benefit the company’s employees and shareholders, as well as the community in which the company operates and will allow the company to fulfill its mission to exceed all customer requirements in regards to delivery, service and quality in an environmentally friendly way. For this purpose, the company shall conduct its operations in compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and other requirements in keeping with good community citizenship.

Furthermore, a commitment to the prevention of pollution will be maintained: all wastes will be handled and disposed of through safe and responsible methods, hazardous wastes will be reduced and, where possible, eliminated through source reduction and recycling and the environmental, health and safety risks to its employees and the community in which it operates will be minimized through safe technologies, facilities and operating procedures and by being prepared for emergencies.

The conservation of natural resources via the minimum consumption of energy will be another concern of the company. Management supports strongly all activities intended to protect and enhance the environment and sees the environmental performance as a continuous improvement process, which is the framework for setting, maintaining, reviewing and revising environmental objectives and targets.

Wieland Metals will also work in partnership with customers and suppliers to reduce negative environmental impacts and promote positive environmental principles where possible and financially feasible.

The company realizes that the employees are the foundation to implement a successful environmental management system and encourages them to work according to the environmental procedures and to be alert to any risk and report them promptly to management so that appropriate remedial measures may be taken.

For this purpose Wieland’s employees are appropriately trained and contractors’ employees working on behalf of Wieland Metals are made aware of environmental issues regarding the Wieland Environmental Management System.
